TCPA Compliance

Our standards for consent, do-not-call handling, and compliant call routing across the network.

Overview

The Telephone Consumer Protection Act (TCPA) restricts how businesses may contact consumers by phone, and it directly shapes how calls move through the UNICORN network. This page summarizes the compliance standards we require from every participant — it is not legal advice, and partners should consult their own counsel for guidance specific to their business.

What TCPA requires

In broad terms, the TCPA requires prior express consent before certain calls are placed to consumers, restricts calls to numbers on do-not-call registries, and imposes specific rules around autodialed and prerecorded calls.

Requirements vary by call type and jurisdiction, which is why consent capture and documentation are treated as first-class parts of our routing pipeline rather than an afterthought.

Every campaign on the network defines the consent language and disclosure a consumer must see or hear before a call is placed or connected. Consent must be specific to the campaign, clearly presented, and timestamped at the moment it's captured.

Consent records are attached to the resulting call and made available to both the advertiser and publisher involved, so compliance can be verified without a separate request process.

Do-not-call & opt-out handling

Numbers on applicable do-not-call registries are scrubbed against campaign traffic before calls are placed. Consumers who opt out of future contact during a call must have that preference honored and recorded immediately.

Publisher responsibilities

Publishers are responsible for presenting accurate consent disclosures on any landing page, form, or call flow used to generate traffic, and for retaining proof of consent in the format required by the campaign.

  • Present consent language exactly as specified by the campaign
  • Avoid pre-checked consent boxes or buried disclosures
  • Retain consent documentation for the period required by the campaign and applicable law

Advertiser responsibilities

Advertisers are responsible for defining consent and disclosure requirements accurately for their vertical, and for promptly flagging any call that appears to have been generated without proper consent so it can be investigated.

Call recording & retention

Where campaigns require call recording, both parties are notified through campaign terms, and recordings are retained for the period necessary to resolve disputes and satisfy regulatory obligations. Access to recordings is limited to the advertiser and publisher associated with that call.

Reporting a compliance concern

If you believe a call was placed without proper consent or in violation of applicable law, report it to compliance@unicorn-callpoint.com with as much detail as possible. Reports are reviewed by our compliance team and may result in campaign suspension pending investigation.

Updates to this policy

We periodically update our compliance standards to reflect changes in law and industry best practice. Partners are notified of material changes that affect their obligations under active campaigns.
